Autograph Collector Profile - THESTOUT79

Every week we will profile an autograph collector who is well-known around the Autograph Collecting Community. To start the Autograph Collector Profile series, we are proud to present Stout 79.

Q. How long have you been collecting autographs?
A. I've been collecting for 16 years off and on.

Q. What genres of autographs do you collect?
A. I usually start off doing baseball at the start of Spring Training. During the wait time, I usually send out WWE. NHL Hockey is one of my favorite sports to TTM. The players usually sign multiple items and then sometimes send back free pucks.

Q. Who was your first autograph?
A. My first autograph must have been Keith Primeau. I got him during a meet and greet. It all started from there. My first TTM Autograph would be Dan Marino.

Q. Do you collect exclusively TTM or do you autograph in-person as well?
A. Mostly TTM. It depends on the price and location for in-person autographs. Most place price gouge due to popularity.

Q. How many TTM’s do you send out per week?

A. Usually 20-50 requests per week.

Q. How do you find information on addresses, signing habits, etc.?
A. I use StarTiger or

Q. Do you handwrite or type your letters?
A. Always handwritten. Typing seems like you don't care, and most likely, your items won't get signed.

Q. Have you received any letters back from the person you sent the autograph request to? Have they included anything extra?
A. Yes, some football game used gloves and baseball game used gloves. Letters mostly.

Q. What’s the best autographed item in your collection?
A. The best item is probably my multi team signed hockey jerseys - Nashville Predators & New York Islanders.
Q. Do you have any tips for anyone looking to get into the autograph hobby?
A. Just have patience and collect what you want to collect.
