Here's a quick video courtesy of 'teamderekgraphs1' on YouTube. The video features former professional wrestler "Total Package" Lex Luger, who now uses a wheelchair, signing autographs. More importantly, the video also features Lex giving Team Derek a brief lesson on how the autograph business works. Lex tells the guys that when he or other stars blow-off autograph hounds at the airport, its not because they don't want to sign, its because they are contractually obligated not to sign for anyone until they arrive at the event. Lex lets the guys know that "its like taking money out of their (promoter's) pocket."
What do you think? Have you ever tried to get a free autograph from an athlete or star knowing that they were on their way to a public autograph event with a signing fee? Is this wrong? Is it okay? Why? Let me know by commenting below.
